If there are no celebrities to shoot then the only thing to do is try and get a great tennis shot but thats so hard with so many good photographers covering the event. I always wait until the sun starts to spread shadows across the court, about 4.30 pm on Stadium court, for the next 15 minutes there can be a bit of magic, problem is people sitting around you get pissed off with the constant clicking of your shutter, not to mention if you stand security tells yo to move out. The photographers who know this position still gather and shoot, sometimes its magic, other times you just pissed of a load of people for nothing.

Someone whispered in my ear to take a picture, I can never do anything by half, so tripod, Nikon D 700, one flash released remotely, 3 second exposure for the sky and flash for the people, everyone had fun, all where pleased.

The Rudder Room at Hollywood Beach, Oxnard, California is one of the very few bars actually on the sand in California. Does anyone else know of another one ? Just sand outside the door, amazing

Saturday drivers in west Los Angeles will be the first to feel the effects of the project, in which eight ramps connecting Wilshire Boulevard and Interstate 405 -- one of the nation's busiest streets and one of its busiest freeways -- will be demolished and rebuilt. The major shutdown is the next phase of the Sepulveda Pass Improvements Project and one of several this summer that could make for an especially rough season for Los Angeles area travelers, commuters and tourists."Ramp Jam" is considerably smaller in size than last summer's so-called "Carmageddon," which saw the shutdown of the entire 405 while part of a bridge was torn down. But while the "Carmageddon" lasted just a weekend, this one will take up to a year, and its long-term effects are bound to be far greater.
